[DL] Gangreen

Just a question from a perspective of the harry turtledove books that i've
been reading lately...

Gangreen was a big problem in those days.  The conditions were unsanitary
and bullet wounds were often fatal weather or not the wound itself killed.
The infection from being shot was enough to kill plenty of people.  What I
want to know is, assume that a PC is shot.  At what point do you have to
worry about infection and what would you do.  Now admittedly supernatural
healing would negate any kind of infection from gunshots so harrowed,
healing, lay on hands, helping hand, and even closeing the gate if you think
about it could negate gangreen.  So, what do you think?
