All they know about Raven is that he caused the Reckoning, on July 4, 1863.
That's it. At some point, they're going to come across the slightly ruined
remains of a time machine with some HOE characters in it. They'll all be
dying and muttering things like... "caused the reckoning... must stop
them... kill them all..." and suchlike.

Anyway, the plan is that the posse will figure that the HOEers were trying
to kill Raven's tribe to prevent the reckoning, and will fix the time
machine, go back in time to sometime before July 4 1863, and do just exactly
that - kill the Indians while Raven watches from the hilltop, thus causing
him to get really mad and cause the reckoning. Of course, the HOE time
travellers were coming back in time to kill the *posse*, not Raven, but they
wont work that out until they have caused the reckoning :-)

That's the plan, at least.
