[DL] attrition rate?



Just a quick one..

Do other marshals out there have a problem with Deadlands attrition rates? I
don't let PC's die all *that* often, but in 23 or so sessions, each player
has died once (One twice, and one three times), so we don't have any
characters from the original posse left (all the same players though).

One of the long term plots I had festering in the back of my mind involved
the wife of a huckster they killed 18 or so sessions ago and I had been
fleshing out her rise to dark power (via her desire for revenge) and all the
nasty things she plotted to do to them...

... and then I realised that there was no character left alive who had been
there when her husband was killed.

Scratch one long term plot I had been enjoying working on.

Being WIld West and Horror combined, plus a less forgiving wound system than
many RPG's (An unhurt man can be killed by one pistol shot if he's unlucky)
the death rate is higher than many RPG's. Do other marshals out there run
into problems such as this one, with plots crumbling because the characters
they involve are no longer alive?
