[DL] defensive weapon bonouses

Some questions concerning defensive bounouses:
1)do you have to skilled in a weapon to get the bonus or can my dude just hold
a saber in his off hand and get the bonus.
2)does a dude have to be using a weapon to get the bonus or is he able to hold
a saber in his off hand without even using it and get the bonus while shooting
with a gun in his right.
3)Can a gunfighter fend off melee attacks with a gun, what sort of defensive
bonouses would he get for a pistol or rifle, would he get this bonous from a
gun he is using to shoot with?
4)does a dude get bounous for both weapons if he is holding a weapon in each
hand?
