You are looking at around 600 miles in a straight line and I know people who
have driven it in 10 hours averaging 60Mph.
Assuming a train has an average speed of 30 miles per hour (the train likely
goes 40, but must stop for water and refueling) you are looking at a 20 hour
trip, with a likely stop over in Carson or Virginia City.
