OK...what do you think of this:

     Lo Pan used to be a big shot in the Iron Dragon railroad and a trusted 
assistant of Kang's. However, he was also a deep-cover spy for the 
Pinkertons, selling them all sorts of secrets. Eventually Lo Pan got greedy 
and was found out by Kang. The spy managed to make it as far as Salt Lake 
City before being killed by an assassin's poisoned darts. Tragically, he died 
with some of Kang's greatest secrets still inside his head.

     That's where Madam Tung comes in. She's a medium who works in Shan Fan, 
whose specialty is dealing with the spirits of murder victims. Madam Tung has 
worked with the Pinkertons of the Maze in the past, and has performed 
admirably on every occasion. She says that she can talk with Lo Pan's ghost 
and find out what he knows, but only if his corpse is brought to her. The job 
of the posse is to escort a barrel containing Lo Pan's pickled remains to 
Shan Fan for interrogation. Naturally, Kang's killers will be after them 
every step of the way.
