[BNW] What would you think?

Hello all,

I have a bit of a question for everyone, assuming that there is still anyone out there.  We all know that Alderac still holds the rights to "Brave New World", but due to the costs involved are not interested in doing anything with it.  Right.  How many of you are familiar with the White Wolf website?  How many of you have gone there recently or more importantly ordered anything from them?  In particular, are any of you aware of the E-books that are available on their site and/or have any of you ordered them from White Wolf?  I have on two occasions in fact.  The E-books are essentially a book (black and white) with a colored cover that you download and may then print out at your leisure.  Yes you must eat the printing and binding costs but it really equals the price of a book when you are done, roughly that is.  The cost for the download is around $8.00.  This way White Wolf is able to provide material for which there is a market but for which there is not enough market to justify printing an entire run.  You see where I am heading with this.  Yes, I rather thought you might.  Frankly, I would even pay more than $8.00 for new "Brave New World" supplements.  So what do you say?  Are there enough of us to make a difference?  Is there enough interest?  Could we perhaps talk the company into this?  Do you think it is worth a try at an  E-mail writing campaign to show our interest?  I for one do, but a lone voice is not enough.  Below is a copy of an E-mail that I have already sent to Alderac expressing my point of view.  If it were joined by others it might make a difference.  Or not, one can never know.  But I'm still not ready to give up on "Brave New World" just yet.

Sincerely,

Dwellyn Myrddin

>To whom it may concern
>     I realize this is probably a vain attempt but I feel that I have to at least try.  I am writing concerning the status of "Brave >New World".  Now I realize that it was dropped and I am sure that there were very compelling reasons to do so at the >time, but situations do change.  Yes, I admit freely that I am very biased, I am a true fan of the game - but consider this.  >Pagan Publishing is coming out with a new super-hero based game set in WWII, a game by the name of "God Like", a >game that even before it's official release has been nominated for best RPG in Gamer Fan Awards.  They have already >have a follow up companion line called "Wild Talents", which is set in a later time frame.  There is even a plan to release a >third phase centering around a school for gifted youngsters, ala X-Men.  So what is my point, you might ask?  That there is >a very receptive market out there for a quality game along that line, really.  It just needs to be tapped into.  And you already >happen to have a product.  Or rather did have a product until recently when I understand that much of what was in your >warehouse's was destroyed.  But that doesn't have to be a problem.  Lately White Wolf has used E-book publication to >market several products which there was an interest in from the public, but which did not warrant a full scale printing >operation.  They were of excellent quality and as a customer I can say that I was completely satisfied.  Couldn't that be a >option in this matter.  Trust me there ARE fans of the "Brave New World" game out there.  It would receive support.  >People do want to see further material developed for this game.  And it is a good game, it deserves a second chance.  And >a good game should be profitable, it just takes the right approach.  Please consider giving it a try.  I really believe that the >market is right.  But don't take my word for it.  Look for yourself.
