Re: [BNW] What (if anything) will YOU do?

Alpha rules...I put a lot of thought into this myself. Some salient points:

1. We see quite a few Alphas throughout the books. No actual rules, per
se, but descriptions.

2. The suggested Alpha rules in the core book say to take 2 or 3 packages
and put them together.

3. We see occasional things along that line (guys who fly and have other
powers, as an example).

4. We also see folks who are a single power but at a higher level -- noted
as "alpha level" whatevers.

Also, there seem to be a lot of variation in power level among the
Alphas. An alpha is always a cut above a delta, but there are some that
are more powerful than others. (Superior, who is listed as the most
powerful alpha. Just a comination of powers? Perhaps, but probably just
overall more powerful).

So, I went with the following rules, should I need an alpha in my game:

1. Alphas are just plain more powerful. Delta powers don't work as well
on them (such as the Snuffer's penalty).

2. They get an average of 3 power packages, with some getting more, and
some getting less.

3. For single-power alphas, their powers work without fail on regs (if
there is a resistance rol), and all bonuses for the alpha are doubled, with
all TNs for targets doubled.

It's a rough guideline, but it works for me. I'm not currently running
BNW, so I haven't gotten to test it yet.

Peace and cheerfulness,
Jennifer
