Re: [BNW] My thoughts on Brave New World being discontinued and other stuff
Greetings Again,
This is my first post responding to what I am reading from the list, so bear with me, sometimes I ramble on, sometimes I dont make sense, and sometimes, I uhh, nevermind.
There are many games out there that have been discountined, but still see lots of play. For awhile I couldnt find any Champions Supplements, but then it came back, went away, and came back again. I even still play 1st Ed AD&D every now again. The problem that I have seen in many of the Super Hero games is that their world is a generic one, no real story to sink your teeth in, everything of the world had to be supplied by the GM, except for a Super Team here and there. Champions, Villians & Vigilanettes, Heroes Unlimited, The Saga System(the original not the one from WoTC). All had an ok system for their game, but no background. Brave New World has a background, not only to sink your teeth into, but something you could look into dinning on for years to come. Now Marvel Super Heroes and DC Universe had background, but that was due to the fact of the Company that they were based for. Brave New World has a unique background all it's own.(See about the ranting thing now)
Now to the good stuff, so we want to talk about player created supplements? Ok here is a few ideas that I had. First I cant see all the different Power Packages getting books of their own, like Bargainer's and The Covenant, but I really would like to see a Gadgeteer book. Second I personally don't think they need to add anymore Power Packages, but some new tricks for the already exsisting ones would be nice.
And lastly(Thank God huh?) I would think that possible producing a semi regular book updating the Brave New World storyline, possibly something about the size of a Dime Novel, or similar to White Wolf's Mind's Eye Theatre Journal.
Just my two cents, and overpriced at that,
