Re: [BNW] Fwd: [Unipax] FW: I thought this was worth sharing
This is an incredibly stupid editorial.
No country is perfectly black or white, and I doubt the United States of
America is an exception.
Some comments seems necessary :
>> Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and
>> Italy were lifted out
>> of
>> the debris of war by the Americans who poured in
>> billions of dollars and
>> forgave other billions in debts. None of these
>> countries is today paying
>> even the interest on its remaining debts to the
>> United States.
Quite true.
The same reasoning applies to the developping countries nowadays
(I don't remember exactly the amounts the european countries
expend on help each year, but I can tell you one thing : Germany
is the a big donator).
But you must realise there is some payback, economically speaking :
a big number of american products have found their place on the
european market just after the WWII : it's not a coincidence.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Airbus is quite a good plane.
The only reason why Boeing is so prominent is the agressive
economic policy of the USA, which prevented Airbus to conquer
a number of public markets.
Ever heard of Echelon ???
Another thing about technology : did you know the only radar
able to detect some ghost airplane are made in France ?

Incredible speaking.
The ESA (European Space Agency) has been sending yearly
a lot of satelites in earth orbit, even when the USA space
program was still (after the explosion of your wonderful
navette).
Of course we never sent anybody on the moon :
the entreprise is simply pointless !!!
The only reason why americans have done it is for the
performance, to show the world they were better than
the communist russians (who were the first to send a
ship on orbit).

When someone will name the 5000 times the americans have raced
to the help of other people, I will answer that question ;-)
There was at the very least a military help from France when
the american independance was proclamed. (May I remind the
americans the Liberty Statue was a gift from France ?)
I'm also nearly sure the Canada and Australia helped in the WWII
pacific conflict.
Another question : do americans consider they have helped to free
Vietnam ???
>> Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one

Who is gloating ?
I'm not.
These events are tragic, and the dead toll is incredibly high.
Well, I'm sure some people will gain some profit of this situation :
there will be at least two buildings to rebuild.
Television showed people on the street of Jerusalem celebrating.
Well, people, sorry to disappoint you, but this is the biggest
false news I ever witnessed : the images you have seen (of this
young boy and a couple of friends of him showing their joy) are
coming from the archives of the news companies !!!
On the other side, we have seen the palestinian leader giving
his blood, and a lot of other signs of compassion from the world.
What is impressing is the urge the americans show about retribution, in the
present situation.
A lot of people are talking about WAR.
I can tell you most european countries won't follow you in this agenda
(maybe UK would, I'm not sure : these people are somehow eager to please the
americans - I only hope Blair will show a true Labour profile in this
matter).
Understand this : USA is the most powerful country in the world, in most
respects. This does not mean that it's the better country to live in.
I certainly would not want to live there.
Your social security is poor, at best.
Your crime rates are incredibly high.
Your penal system still allow death sentences (a reason why the european
court of human rights have refused to allow the extradition of a criminal to
the USA - this guy was instead judged in Germany and inprisonned there).
Yes, America is the land of freedom : freedom to build a financial empire
from nearly nothing (only a handful of people are able to do that), freedom
to die from a disease because you cannot afford proper treatment...
OK, I think I have said enough this time.
