[BNW] Freedom Force characters
Gudday all,
Magician, the best thing to do on this list, or at least the one that will
get you the most responses, is to get all your thoughts in order and then
present them to everyone here.
Giving us bits and pieces at a time really doesn't work.
I know you've said you wanted the information to possibly come out as a
sourcebook someday and good luck to you if it ever does, but for the moment
- and this is coming from some-one who loves all things superheroish - it's
not that interesting.
Now, the fact that they are not original characters doesn't mean anything,
and if you look at the Freedom Force site, half of them are rip offs of old
Stan Lee and Jack Kirby creations. But the characters have to have that
something that people can identify with or at the very least gets them
interested in the characters. So far, while I have liked some of the ideas (
the number crunchers back up guy is a good example of a tried and tested
idea ), as an idea overall, they haven't really meshed and more importantly,
haven't been interesting.
I mean, BNW has pretty much a clear cut line: us or them. If you want to
work in areas of grey in your game, the setting works as well. But to throw
a third idealogy into the mess UNLESS it makes sense to the setting as a
whole really throws the whole thing out.
As I said earlier, live that dream baby, work towards getting your stuff out
there. Listen to my opinion, throw it in the trash if you want. Just have a
think even for a minute or two on what I said.
Cheers,
Cameron Twine.
The other non american on the list.
ps no relation the crocodile hunter.
