Re: [BNW] page move

It's a step between an alpha and a delta. In my pseudo-BNW campaign a
corp. called Medtech (a front for Umbrella Corp.) has found a way to make
a more powerful delta. Basically the theory goes that, er...

that everyone has the codes in their DNA to become a delta. But that they
also have a "skip" code in the DNA sequence that tells the body to skip
the next X bits of DNA (the ones that code for the delta gene). When the
body has a near-death experience this CAN cause a stimulation of protien
growth that bridges over the skip sequence, allowing the next sequence to
be read (that delta gene sequence). This causes a person to "express" as a
delta.
But when this happens the entire skip sequence isn't bridged, only part of
it. If this happens again (another near death experience), this can cause
the protien strand to grow again, therebye triggering the expression of an
alpha. However the strand becomes so long that it tends to break apart.
This causes massive genetic abnormalities and is why an alpha can't be
grown in a lab.
But by being more conservative you can stimulate a slight increase in
protien length and make a beta.
Betas come in two varities: Primary (B1) and Secondary (B2).
B1's are betas who exhibit increased power in a single phenotype (power
package). So a tougher tough, or a stronger goliath would be a B1.
B2's are betas who exhibit a second phenotype totally seperate from the
first (a speedster/blaster or scrapper/fortunate).
So far the group has-
The main char. who is a scrapper/copycat B2
A sneak/speedster B2
A Charger B1 (this is the Gambit-style charger from The Encaffinated One's
webpage, no the official one).
The Charger has heightened damage (10d6 + (2x size of item charger with
KE) and also the ability to absorb damage his armor stops and channel it
into his attacks (so he can add up to +10 to his damage, but only up to
the amount of damage his armor stops, and that dissipates over time).
There are also two beta villains:
A B1 Goliath - the process has killed his mind and heightened his
aggression to the point that he is a mindless killing machine. He has
str+10 now and is no longer slow.
Wesker - a bouncer/telekinetic that just recently under-went the the beta
procedure so he could kill Decker, the scrapper/copycat.
There's more to it (side-effects and such). But that's the basics.
