[BNW] The Fortress: GUIDES ONLY [ATTN: MATT]

Ok you pesky PCs, move along. Nothing to see here. Not for your eyes,
anyway.

Ok, they gone? Good. The ones still here will pay later. Anyway, in my
weekly BNW game this weekend, I had one of those "moments of clarity." I've
been introducing the PCs to some of the "secrets" of the BNW world, namely
Vampires and that DP has a Barganer squad. One of the PCs is pretending to
be a vampire to draw more of them out so they can track them down and take
them out. The PCs met the DP Barganers and decided to take one of them's
totems. One PC, the Teleporter, had the plan of teleporting one of the DPs
into the middle of the mosh pit in the club, naked. In the resulting
confusion, he could take the Primer's stuff, and his totem presumabibly, and
leave. I had already decided that the Primer in question was using an
Anti-Magic totem, so when he touched the DPer, nothing happend. He had used
stealth to touch him subtly, so the DPer didn't notice (Croweded bar).

So, to describe the effect of the totem, I used the same effect that I had
used for a supression field (an all-over body chill and sense of loss),
since I figured the loss of power had to be similar to the supression field.
The PC panicked, and backed off, confused. Later, a combat with the Vampires
and a Gunner vampire killer in the back drew out the PCs and the Primers.
The PCs watched as the Gunner dispached the Vampires, then the Teleporter
tossed down a grenade. This knocked down the DPs and the Gunner. The PCs saw
that the Primers dropped what they were holding, thanks to being blown
about, the 'Porter popped down, grabed the one totem-looking thing he saw,
and popped out.

They got the totem to a friendly Barganer (Samantha from the Ripper
adventure) and she told them what it was, an Anti-Magic totem that prevented
magic and Delta Powers from affecting the Barginer. The PCs asked her why it
affected Deltas, and she told them she didn't know, but was glad it did.

So, how this relates to the Fortress is this. After Sam told the PCs how the
totem worked, the flashbulb went off. Matt has said that the Supression
field on the Fortress isn't maintained by a Gadgeteer. . .

The Fortress has to be under the influence of an Alpha-Class Anti-Magic
Totem! It's the only explination that makes sense! What say you all?

And Matt, I have a question that I don't remember seeing covered in the
Barganer book: If one Barganer gets a totem from another Barganer, can they
make use of the totem somehow? Attuning themselves to it somehow?
