I like your day one idea...wish I would've thought of that :)  Some things 
I'm doing that aren't exactly 'by the book'  involve bringing in a more 
supernatural element.    Vampires, werecreatures, demons, etc. aren't going 
to be Deltas, but different entities, magic is going to be pretty prevalent, 
and the major villian is going to be a shape shifting alien with designs on 
world domination.  (He's been the Pope for about 5 years)....I can't wait for 
the Covenant book :))
