I dont know about the strenght part, but I would say
yes multi-thrown objects would be a trick.

   One way of looking at it is to use the Shuriken rules, which can be thrown 3 at a time as an autofire attack (I think) and do Str+1 Dam.  So a Goliath using golf balls to do the same thing makes sum sense.
