To me, I would think it's a matter of game balance (and, yes, I know how some
of you just hate that concept:) )...Bargainers have the potential to be quite
a bit more versatile, if not more powerful (especially with the spells in the
Bargainer's book) than your "average" Delta, so if you had a way that they
could be neutralized (taking/destroying the totem) relatively easily, it
might balance things out. If a Primer in the know sees a Delta flying around
or shooting lightning from their hands while brandishing a wand or some such
object, they could easily target it and make things rough for the Bargainer.
If it was so easy, everyone would be doing it :)
