Re: [BNW] Bomber, cool or stupid?

It strikes me as somewhat powerful yet limited. He does big honking amounts
of damage (and it's Massive - arrgh). Really - has anyone actually used
such a character and _seen_ what kind of pain a Bomber can inflict? And had
anybody other than your resident Goliath/Tough survive it?
On the other hand, a Bomber is One-Shot Charlie. Taking the "focused
strike" (or whatever it's called) Trick is almost mandatory. And if you
really think about it (and I did, and asked Matt), a Bomber blows up pretty
much everything on them. Makes you wonder why the archetype Bomber carries
a gun. "Hey, I've blown up - looks like I'll have to spend some more money
to replace that gun. And my clothes. And my other equipment. Hope my car
wasn't nearby! Oh, it was... :( "
And of course, as part of a group, it's not too peachy either. Hope he
gives his comrades lots of warning.

Well, as noted, it's not really original, but it is seldom seen. And with
good reason, probably. It really doesn't come across as that "heroic" a
power. On the other hand, in the BNW scope it's rather dangerous to give to
an opponent/villain. NPCs are going to be more likely to use it. A NPC
Delta Primer can count on his comrades guarding the site as he reassembles,
or the police not arresting him once he does reassemble. Your typical
Defiance Bomber probably has no such recourse, and will be a lot more likely
to use it only as a last-ditch defense.
