The Human Bomb. Formerly of (I think) Quality Comics. He first showed up in
the DC universe in Crisis on Earth-X (around issue 105 or 110, original
series) as part of the Freedom Fighters. Where he later turned out to be a
transferee from Earth-2. And was eventually incorporated into the DC
Universe post-crisis. He can be seen in Kingdom Come, issue 2, in the bar
scene, doing a "pull my finger" gag on someone.

I forget his origin right off hand (one of those typical "shoulda killed me"
experiments), but he wore the suit to contain his explosive powers.
However, I don't believe he actually blew himself up (unlike either the
aforementioned Nitro, or the BNW Bomber), but rather simply released
explosive energy on contact. His body parts remained intact.

(Never ask trivia around a guy who wrote DC Heroes sourcebooks unless you
want the long answer... :) )
