I have to agree with Nick here, I don't think the
power is too unbalancing. I had thought of the
compairsons he had mentioned, but also thought of an
even better one. Getting a bonus in skills is a lot
weaker than getting the same bonus in a trait. Let's
use the genius as an example. He gets a +5 smarts.
That means all smart skill rolls are +5. By
extrapolation there's no reason why there can't be a
power package that has only a +5 in strength, or a +5
in spirit, or a +5 in speed. Well let's compair a
package that has only a +5 in speed. He gets all the
bonuses the Fu Fighter gets (+5 when doing martials
arts - speed skill, +5 dodging - again speed, + 5
initiative - speed, + 5 pace - lalala) as well as
getting a compairable +5 to all other speed skills.
The Fu Fighter is definitely weaker than this
potential delta, but I would rather a player take the
Fu Fighter because he has more substance to him than
Joe Schmo with a +5 speed.

My 2 cents

Just want to say I REALLY like this trick ... course
now this gets me thinking. Martial arts uses speed,
fighting uses strength, covenant MA use spirit ... so
can anyone think of a power package that uses a Smarts
based Martial arts???? Hmmm, maybe we can figure out a
way for Geniuses to do just that?
