I only have the basic BNW rules book at the moment and my interpretation was
that *crossbows* came under the archery skill (I know this isn't 100%
realistic 'cos I accept the fact that she's not your Robin Hood bow 'n' arrow
type, but then again she doesn't use guns either!)
<<Oh, I donno.. there are times when her moves aren't all that fancy,
acrobatic or swift -- just a plain ol' punch or kick.>>
While I take your point I'm still sticking to my guns that's she more Bruce
Lee than Mike Tyson ... remember Bruce was no ten stone weakling, but you
couldn't call his fighting style *strength-based*. Sure sometimes Buffy uses
just a punch and kick, but overall her style is martial arts led, surely?
<<Well, I don't know about the books, but she fights daemons for a living,
and she has commented a couple of times that she "does not bruise
easily" and "heals quickly"..>>
Thinking about it Armour 2 isn't excessively powerful and your argument makes
sense. You have to bear in mind that over in sad, backward Blighty the BBC
has stalled the series half-way into series II and so we're quite a few
episodes behind you guys. Hence, the need for us hardcore Buffy saddos to
indulge in the books ... that being said, while no works of great literature,
most of them are a cracking good adventure read (certainly better than the
couple of Star Trek novels I've forced myself to read over the decades!).
<<Ahem.. I mean I would be interested in have the Buffy *character* on my
page... Ahem!>>
I would be most honoured. I shall be away for the weekend, but at the start
of next week I'll bash out a *definitive* Buffy from our comments -- and any
last minute observations that come in from other listers over the next few
days -- add in a brief background etc and send it on over.
cheers,
Tim
