For those of you that have heard of this, check it out.  I just picked up
the issue of Wizard with the preview poly-bagged in.  Even with the scant
number of pages in the preview, it's apparent that this is going to be
something *special*.

For those of you who have never heard of Rising Stars, it's a new comic
book maxi-series (24 issues) being published by Image/ Top Cow.  Written by
Babylon 5 creator/writer/produce J. Michael Straczynski, Rising Stars is
the story of superheroes in a world that has never seen the like before.

When a falling star strikes a small town in the heartland of america, 113
unborn children are imbued with super powers.  The story follows these
children, through their lives, deaths, and all of the quiet moments in
between.  Some are good, some evil; what makes this series different
however, is that some just *are*.  

Not heroes, not villains, but *people*- people gifted with great powers,
and cursed with a terrible burden.  

Straczynski says he wants to create a story that rivals "The Watchmen" and
"Kingdom Come".  Here's to hoping he succeeds.
